Weaponscache.com has absolutely NO power to control scammers, thieves, lazy people, or the various methods of shipping. We offer NO insurance, and buying from a member in these forums is a risk.

The ONLY thing you have to go on is your naive trust of someone you don't know, can't get to, and have never met before. Just because they have the same interest in firearms (or say they do) does not mean they can be trusted!

Just because OTHER people have had good luck, doesn't mean you will. Each transaction is an independent event.

No whining, complaining, flaming, or "warnings" will be tolerated.

Alerting other members to a scammer is NOT permitted. You are not helping anyone by doing so, just creating a mess of flaming here on the board.

Now that that's out of the way, we do have a Trader Rating system put into place. This allows members to give a positive, negative, or neutral rating for their experiences with members in the WeaponsCache Classifieds section. You are encouraged to use the Trader Rating service to better help other members decide if they want to participate in a sale or trade with another members. This is 100% feedback of other members and WeaponsCache DOES NOT assume any responsibility for trader ratings. Just because someone has a positive trader rating with 10+ transactions does not mean that you will have a pleasant and smooth transaction with them. Use these ratings only as guidelines and use them at your OWN RISK.

The following is broken out into two parts: An overview of how the classified system works, and the rules that govern it.

Quick Overview of Posting a Classified Ad

1. Post your Classified Ad: Click the "New Thread" button just as if you were posting anywhere else on the forum. Once clicked you will be presented with the standard new thread form with one special feature, the "Prefix" field which contains 6 choices: [Want to Sell], [Want to Buy], [Want to Trade], [Want to Sell/Trade], [Want to Buy/Trade] and [CLOSED]. When posting a new classified pick one of the first 5 that fits what you are trying to do, the the 6th one is for later. You are required to select a prefix.

2. Wait for responses: People will either email you (if you allow email from other members) private message you, or post in your classified thread any questions, comments, and offers. We suggest that if people ask questions, you edit your original posting to include the answers because if one person is asking, surely there's another person out there who might be wondering the same thing.

3. Close your Classified Ad: Once you have sold the item you are selling or found the item you are buying, please edit your original ad and change the "Prefix" to the previously mentioned [CLOSED] prefix. This will help our staff locate ads that need to be moved to the archives in an effort to unclutter the ad boards. Please note that we also archive classified ads that have not been updated within the last month.

The Rules of the Classifieds Section

1. This is not eBay, include a price or a trade: Our classified section does not support bidding or "make me an offer" style ads when you are the one selling an item. When selling/trading away an item a price or a requested trade must be included, preferably in the thread title. This does not apply to people looking to buy an item, they are welcome to receive offers privately from sellers and pick the best deal.

2. Do not reply to/bump your ads more than once every 72 hours (3 days): Every time you reply to your own thread, it is moved back to the top of the classifieds listing. If done repeatedly this is unfair to other members who are trying to buy or sell items. If you need to add information to your listing within 72 hours since your last post, edit the original post. Basically, if you post your ad on January 1st at noon, do not reply to the thread until at least January 4th at noon. Bumping prematurely will result in your ad being trashed and your access to the classifieds may be revoked temporarily or permanently.

3. Do not reply to your threads with posts directed towards a member. "Hey username, I updated some pics and info" is not acceptable. If you have something to say to a specific member or members, send them a PM or email with that info. Your posts and replies should only deal with the item(s) in the thread, not other members.

4. Do not break the law or offer to break the law: This shoudl go without saying, but do not do illegal things. Do not offer to sell a firearm to someone out of state without shipping it to an FFL in their state. Do not offer to sell someone a suppressor without filing the proper paperwork. Likewise, do not request that another party break the law for you. Doing so will result in an immediate ban from the discussion forum completely, most likely forever.

Suggestions and Tips for Classified Ads

1. The more information the better: Posting an ad with the title "[Want To Sell] Handgun" is probably going to be ignored by everyone. Be specific, try: "[Want to Sell] AR-15, slightly used, $700 in Richmond VA". The latter will stand out far better because people know what you're selling, what you want, and how easy or difficult it will be to get it.

2. Include pictures if you have them: People love to see pictures, it gives them a sense of security to know what they're getting. If you have them it certainly can't hurt to post them.

3. Clearly outline any terms of the transaction: If you will only transfer the gun in person at an FFL, make sure the buyer knows that so you don't end up selling it to someone who doesn't want to travel 7 hours across the state to pick it up.

Now that you have read and fully understood the rules, you may now start using the Classified section. If you choose to access these forums to buy and sell, do so at your own risk. Weaponscache.com accepts NO responsibility for the transactions that occur, and any issues WILL be handled outside of Weaponscache.com (PM communication is allowed... nothing public is permitted). No public discussion of issues will be tolerated. By accessing these forums, you agree to these terms and accept the risk. The p.ass werd to enter the forums is- "ar15" (without quotes). This p.ass word is in place so people will HAVE to read this disclaimer and accept the terms! You should have full access to the forums without having to type the p.ass word as long as you have cookies enabled, after the first time. If these rules are ever amended, the p.ass word will change. This sticky is set up so people must read it to access the classified forums. Sharing the p.ass w.ord with people who are too lazy or stupid to read this is not allowed. A one-week ban will result (longer if the banning moderator sees fit).

Sharing the p.ass word on other forums, if discovered, will result in a one-month ban minimum. That is sneaky, and not appreciated. You're "helping" is putting both new and old members at risk.

Note: DO NOT PM, email, IM, or otherwise contact the moderators, supermoderators or admins asking for the p.ssword. It will not be given out. You'll be wasting both your time and ours!
