Default Desert Eagle .50

I had the opportunity to shoot the Desert Eagle .50. It went like this a buddy at the range says "I brought my Desert Eagle, you wanna try it?"

LOL, Would anyone here say no to that???

He offered to fill the mag but being somewhat bashful of the cost and somewhat concerned about the kick I asked him to stop after loading 5 rounds.

For those who have held one I'm sure you'll agree that the gun is quite heavy. And if you have shot her you understand why the weight. The recoil is substantial and the sound is unlike any other I've heard.

Lot's of fun!!!

Hot guns created by Jews. Gotta love it. I haven't gotten to fire one... aside from the Baby Eagle, but we've got a guy at the range with one. Definitely a very cool gun. And it's as noisy as one of those Dan Coonans. And, best of all, as far as I know it's legal in Cali.

I have the .44 cal desert eagle and the .50AE barrel and clip. They are interchangeable. The rim size is exactly the same on the .44 and .50AE rounds. The reason I bought the .44 cal instead of just buying the .50 cal is because the .44 rounds are much cheaper and easier to get. The .50AE rounds cost me about $40 for a box of 20 rounds. You can see the pic of it in my avatar. That barrel is the 50AE. You can tell how big the hole is

The recoil with both the .44 and the .50AE are pretty much the same. The only thing that I noticed is with the .50AE rounds, the sound is louder and the flash is very large. Even in daylight you can still see the flash.

I want to purchase a 10" barrel for my desert eagle but I have not been able to find one for a reasonable price yet. It greatly improves the accuracy.
Here is what the 10" barrel looks like:

If there's a big flash it sounds like you'll get higher velocities out of t a 10" barrel too.

I didn't know they were interchangeable! Only makes sense to buy a .44 and get the .50 mag and barrel! Are the .44's any cheaper?

They are fun, and great for the range but they are heavy and very un reliabile. they were only made by IMI, i think and i could be wrong designed by a guy in Minasota, i will have to look.

Yep. All true. I think Magnum Research might make a few? I'd buy it only from IMI, though. Israelis make good guns.

If I go to war, I want a Galil.

I want an IMI or IWI Tavor. Can't be bought in the US but I can buy one in Canada ( once I have my licenses ). Figure that out
