Oh... and I can carry on school campuses because there's a waver for that in the CCW code. Unfortunately, my school can still fire me. They can't arrest me or have my gun seized, however. They'll learn the folly of that if we ever do have a school shooting and I could have made a difference. A pity.

That is funny, but then again they cant figure simple change when the computers break.
the funniest thing i ever had said to me, was a little old lady this is no shit must have been 75yr old.
in line at wal-mart at 230am, she had a cart full of grocieries and i had a can of baby formula, she let me in front of her and when she saw my gun, i had my SIG Sauer P232 on me, she says thats much smaller then mine and shows me her series 70 colt 1911 cocked and locked on her hip.

I checked "Never" but many years ago, about 35, when I lived in Pennsylvania I did open carry. Not legal in Florida so I have no choice. Now please don't misunderstand me when I say this, I mean no disrespect... I was much younger, immature, cocky, whatever but I went into a suburban Philly supermarket packin' a big old 6 shooter on my hip, 5 1/2" barrel. The look of fear was on most every face I looked at and I realized this was a mistake. This wasn't where people routinly saw rifles in pick-em'-up gun racks. This was the burbs! Hair down to my butt crack didn't help. I thought I was a smart ass but now realize I was only half right.

UUMMM that is just wrong, i dont care who i scare O/Cing it is my right and the law says yes i can, so there for if someone is scared of an inatamite object then thats not my fault. if they would have stayed in there sespool NY/NJ then they could feel all warm and cozy and turn a blind eye to the crime going around them and dont want to stand up, to the scum that preys on the innocent, but if my gun scares them thats their problem not mine.

plus if they see people carrying guns all the time, it will become less of a big deal.

Why do we treat a gun like a dirty thing to be ashamed of, this is some of the things that stick in my craw.
1. if it wasnt for firearms this country wouldnt be where it is today,
2. people need to relize that there are those of us who have taken the responsibility of our family and friends saftey seriously.
3. if i cared what other people think of me then i would have voted for Obama and his cronnies,
4. i dont follow every one else and i for one will not let someone hurt me or my family because i didnt carry for fear of hurting someones feelings and scaring them.
5. and no matter what my prefered carry choice you dont like looking at my weapon dont look at it.

Guns are treated as dirty things because they aren't seen as civilized. I completely agree with you, but I'll point this out:
Who does the average person see with a gun? Cops and robbers.

Does open carry help? In the short term, it could kill our 2A because the public is afraid. In the long term it might not help at all.
