Default Bowtech Assassin from Top Shot: Compound Fracture

So, I was looking up the Bowtech Assassin after seeing it on Top Shot last night. I loved the camo. I loved the low profile. Plus, if it's good enough for a guy who can hit an asprin out of the air with it, it's good enough for me. (Granted they may have had to film all afternoon to actually film him hitting said asprin).

I've shot archery since I was really young. For some reason my Mom figured letting me run around with a bow and arrow was safer than me running around with a gun. :P

Recently, I've been really wanting to get more into shooting. All of the ranges in Peterborough are about a five minute drive from me which rocks. I have considered getting back into archery though.

I have a 50's or 60's recurve bow at home with 50# pull. I'll have to do a write-up on that one. Funny story. I used to have a really sweet compound bow when I was younger but I sold it for $75... rabble rabble shouldn't have done that... but what can you do.

Anyway, the Bowtech Assassin looked awesome last night. So I decided to look it up expecting a huge number.

YOUR ARROW REST
Octane Hostage Rest

(Included R.A.K. Component) Never worry about an arrow falling from the rest again. The Hostage rest captures the arrow like other popular rests, but doesn't damage fletching or slow down your arrows. Triple brush block design ensures perfect arrow alignment and easy loading. A very quiet and rugged design. *Best used with straight or offset vanes.

YOUR SIGHT
Apex 4 Pin Fiber Sight

(Included R.A.K. Component) You're going to love the fiber optic pins in this sight. They provide a clear and fine aiming point for four different distances of your choice. Long fiber optic elements keep each pin visible, even in low dawn/dusk lighting conditions. Sight features gang windage and elevation and a heavy-duty machined bracket. Bubble level and aiming ring included too.

YOUR STABILIZER
Hi-Tek 4" in Mossy Oak Treestand

(Included R.A.K. Component) Built by Hi-Tek, this compact 4" stabilizer is the perfect compliment for short-axle hunting bows. Get comfort, balance and control, with every shot - as well as excellent reduction in noise and vibration. Dipped in the Bowtech facility to match the Assassin's camo.

YOUR QUIVER
Q5 Ultra-Lite 5-Arrow in Treestand Camo

(Included R.A.K. Component) The all-new Q5 one-piece, 5 arrow quiver is constructed using ultralight materials, ABS and Nylon, resulting in an extremely lightweight and quiet quiver without sacrificing strength and durability. Designed to be quick detach, the Q5 Ultra-Lite quiver releases quietly and easily with a simple twist of the rods and is equipped with pre-cut foam to accept most of today's popular fixed and mechanical broadheads. Dipped in Mossy Oak Treestand Camo!

YOUR WRIST SLING
Bowtech Adjustable Soft Logo Sling

(Included R.A.K. Component) A very comfortable yet functional sling that features the Bowtech logo. Synthetic material stretches to allow for the extra bulk of gloves and sleeves during hunting season. Features fully adjustable strap and metal grommet for the stabilizer mount-through. A great-looking addition to the Assassin package.

YOUR PEEP SIGHT
Jim Fletcher Tru-Peep

(Included R.A.K. Component) This all-aluminum peep’s ingenious design gives you a perfectly round shaded hole at full draw. The safety-tie groove design eliminates the need to serve this peep into the bow’s string. Available in 1/16", 1/8", and 3/16" hole sizes.

For $699 you could get 6 arrows, a case ,and a Tru-fire caliper.

They were using stabilizers way back in the early 80's when I used to comp shoot recurves. I'll post pics of the compound I have now later. It has all that jazz and was only $329 from Gander mountain.........

Stabilizer is (I think) meant to keep you from torquing on the bow.
Peep sight is exactly as it sounds - pull the string back and look through the peep sight to line up the shot with your Apex 4 pin fiber sight.

It reduces noise and reverberations in the bow string.
