Default If Bush had...

If George Bush...... *

*If George W. Bush had been the first President to need a teleprompter installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have laughed and said this is more proof of how he inept he is on his own and is really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes? *

*If George W. Bush had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take Laura Bush to a play in NYC, would you have approved? *

*If George W. Bush had reduced your retirement plan's holdings of GM stock by 90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM, would you have approved? *

*If George W. Bush had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would you have approved? *

*If George W. Bush had given Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs, when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful and historically significant gift, would you have approved? *

*If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches, would you have thought this embarrassingly narcissistic and tacky? *

*If George W. Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia ,would you have approved? *

*If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the non-existent "Austrian language," would you have brushed it off as a minor slip? *

*If George W. Bush had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers with people who cannot seem to keep current in their income taxes, would you have approved? *

*If George W. Bush had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to "Cinco de Cuatro" in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the 5th of May (Cinco de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again, would you have winced in embarrassment? *

*If George W. Bush had mis-spelled the word "advice" would you have hammered him for it for years like Dan Quayle and potatoe as proof of what a dunce he is? *

*If George W. Bush had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a single tree on Earth Day, would you have concluded he's a hypocrite? *

*If George W. Bush's administration had okayed Air Force One flying low over millions of people followed by a jet fighter in downtown Manhattan causing widespread panic, would you have wondered whether they actually get what happened on 9-11? *

*If George W. Bush had failed to send relief aid to flood victims throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless than in New Orleans , would you want it made into a major ongoing political issue with claims of racism and incompetence? *

** *If George W.Bush had created the position of 32 Czars who report directly to him, bypassing the House and Senate on much of what is happening in America, would you have approved.*

*If George W. Bush had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would you have approved? *

*If George W Bush had proposed to double the national debt, which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have approved? *

*If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again within 10 years, would you have approved? *

*So, tell me again, what is it about Obama that makes him so brilliant and impressive? Can't think of anything? Don't worry. He's done all this in 8 months -- so you'll have three years and three months to come up with an answer.*

Sad, true, and somewhat frightening.

Mmm... Again, in the interest of fairness, I don't think Obama is any better than anyone else... except Bush. Bush was about as bad as it gets.

How about this...
George Bush walked hand in hand with the King of Saudi Arabia. Bowing is acceptable, because it is proper. Americans can actually bow. It's polite. Go to Japan and check it out. Or go square dancing. Holding hands... that's not quite right. Neither is kneeling.

GB headed the whole Terry Schiavo fiasco. Apparently marriage is only between a man and a woman... as long as everyone agrees on a case by case basis. This scares me because I'm a Jew married to a Christian. I don't need people getting their religious freak on and enacting their beliefs through Congress.

GB didn't need a teleprompter. If he'd had one, we wouldn't have had so many "Bushisms."

GB didn't need to refer to "Austrian" as a language. He had to GROPE THE HEAD OF STATE OF GERMANY.

GB wouldn't have needed any "czars." He apparently knew everything himself. He handled everything perfectly. That's why we're still bogged down in Iraq. Because they had weapons of mass destruction. And a dictator his father hadn't successfully taken down. So instead we sacrifice countless soldiers. Either he had bad intel or he purposely screwed us.

Hadn't heard about the letter till you posted about it. Have you seen it?

I've done worse. I remember typing out a quick note to my department head once and wrote something like "are students aloud to..." Oops. Damn. And I'm an English teacher. And pretty damned good (even though I start sentences with conjunctions while typing online). Advice or advise... it's one friggin' letter.

The real question is... would Bush have bothered responding? Or would he have figured there were better things he could be doing with his time? Like deciding that Habeas Corpus, one of the cornerstones of any democracy or civilized country, didn't matter a whole lot. Suspension of Habeas Corpus is one of those things Jews don't like... because it's the first stop on the railroad to Auschwitz.

I don't like Obama terribly. But Bush? Bush made America a joke long before Obama got around to it.

Oh.. and one final thought. I'll state again that my fear isn't Obama taking our guns because he wants to become the next Hitler. I think he fell prey to the same crap statistics we all hear the left screaming, and he thinks gun control will make us safer. I think he doesn't understand that taking our guns will allow the next Bush to become the next Hitler. See... Obama might be fairly communist. Socialism is the first stop on the railroad to communism. Maybe. But fascism is pretty much a far right belief structure. It thrives on capitalism. Pay attention to this last idea. I'm not saying Obama is a commie. Not unless you're willing to say that Bush was a fascist.

I'm impressed! I don't think I'll look at the news for another three years and 4 months. Let me know if anyone nukes anyone.

Kappy, I'm not bothered that you are a Jewish man married to a Christian woman; I would not be bothered if you were married to a Jewish Man, I would be bothered if you were married to a Christian man.

Obama Likes Tyrants and Dislikes America . . . and Here's More Proof - Andy McCarthy - The Corner on National Review Online

Quote:
Obama Likes Tyrants and Dislikes America . . . and Here's More Proof [Andy McCarthy]

Michael hits the nail on the head . . . and then comes this: The Obama administration has notified Congress of the State Department's intention to contribute $400,000 to foundations run by Muammar Qaddafi's two children — $200,000 each for daughter Aisha and son Saif. Saif, you may recall, is the son who escorted the Lockerbie terrorist Abdel Baset al-Megrahi home to a hero's welcome in Libya after President Obama sternly "warned" Qaddafi that there was to be no hero's welcome.

Illinois Republican congressman Mark Steven Kirk (House Appropriations Subcommittee on State/Foreign Operations) has sent Obama a letter asking him to rescind the funding.

Could somebody please tell this president that this is not just Annenberg Foundation cash he's passing out to his personal terrorist pals like Bill Ayers but American taxpayer dollars he's doling out to the terrorist tyrant behind the murder — in just that one incident — of 270 people, including 189 Americans.

Damn Obama! How DARE he! I can't believe he's sending money to Qaddafi or his... oh... what's that? He's actually CUTTING BACK on a policy already established by Bush? Hmph. How come that isn't getting reported? Oooooh... because the media isn't biased right or left... it's biased towards green. Gotcha.

And I was going to post from a site... then realized it was liberal... so I went with a .gov source instead.
Briefing on U.S.-Libya Comprehensive Claims Settlement Agreement

But... for the sake of argument, here's the original source I found. Media Matters.

I just said it was. And, to be clear, it does go left or right... but just when you nail it down... it goes green. Money is what drives them. Principles go right out the window when you decide that the bottom line needs some padding.
