Patrick, you can listen or read stuff too much to the right as well as you can read stuff too much to the left.

Out of the last 10 presidents, 2 have been pretty great, 2 pretty good, three pretty crooked, and three it has simply been way above their heads.

The current POTUS might fit into two of the categories I listed above, and no I don't think he was the right person for the job. I really don't think we had a choice of the right person for the job, and that has been the unfortunate problem with many of our Presidential elections since the late 1700's. It was a forgone conclusion the Dems would win the last election for POTUS. The only surprise was who their nominee was, as I had always expected another President Clinton, and she would have won had she been nominated. In hindsight, everything seems to be a crooked colusion as far as all the bad news that came out over the past 18 months. No one could have been ignorant of what would happen with the sub prime mortgages in either party. It was allowed to happen. That is why I no longer respect anyone in Washington.

Jake, when I'm Emperor of Earth, you're going to be my Vice Emperor. And no, you don't have to wear the velvet cape... but it'll get you more play with the ladies.

Thanks Kappy, even if I'm not a good scholar of Shakespear, I do have a large cod piece to wear, and that along with my not too long velvet cape should do the trick with the future disappointed ladies! Hopefully, they will not share secrets!

I agree. Obama wasn't the right person for the job but I don't think McCaine was either. Nor do I think Bush, Kerry, or Gore were either. I'm starting to think that our great Presidents were just flukes in a perfect storm. We have some great and inspiring quotes from them. The best we've had in the past 30-40 years was "I am not a crook" and "I did not have a sexual relationship with that woman."

Looking at our current situations, I worry about the state of the US and the world. We, as a nation, are losing our values, motivation, and self respect. Our education system is in ruins, health care is a sham, and economy is in the shitter. How do we fix it? Privatize health care while corporate big wigs bleed society for every penny? Switch to social medicine and raise taxes while diving even deeper into debt? The outlook is bleak in my opinion.

Going into these elections, I knew that Dems would win. When we're sick of R's, we switch to D's until we get sick of them then we switch back to R's. Unfortunately society is trying to pick the lesser of two evils.

There is no longer a lesser of two evils between the parties, they have all become "Me people" no one would listen to the one who made any sense, they didn't want to hear what he had to say, and he had absolutely no charisma.

Mc Cain, to me was a grave disappointment, I expected far more from him, his campaign was lousy...he knew he couldn't and wouldn't win and tried not to offend the victor.

In my opinion, the fatal flaw was Palin as VP. It was much too radical of a decision and I feel that she was only there to try to suck up the feminist votes. That made me feel like the R's didn't decide based on ability but sex. If they had picked a safe VP I think the vote would have been much closer. Just my opinion of course
