|  Growing my own Salsa
Lots of peppers and tomatos on the way. Habanero red chilli cayenne hot banana cowbell (new one I'll let you know how hot) sweet banana bell pepper cherry tomato Bonnie select tomato Brandy Boy tomato cilantro (it ain't salsa without this) squash (pan fried with butter, oinons, brown sugar. ummmmmm)   Wish I'd known about being forloughed before I started this, it would have been bigger. Your garden looks a lot like my garden. (Only smaller) We've got many of the same plant varieties.  For whatever it's worth I've planted the property with a great many, 'wild edibles'.

I was proud to see you had the Cilantro, because you are absolutely right, it ain't Salsa without it. Next year, try growing a few Chilie Pequines, very hot and a distinct flavor enhancement for any salsa.

And for those of you who don't know....if you put different pepper plants very close together, you will get some funny looking hybrid peppers, I did that one year with banana peppers and bell peppers. And it can change the taste considerably in an unfavorable way.

I lined the rear of the foundation with mint plants; they're supposed to keep ants away. I don't know? I see the ants eating it all the time, anyway. (Maybe someone should have told them that they don't like mint!)

I have Habanero, jalapeño, Chile and tomatoes going. The latest cold snap has zapped my jalapeño some but its doing OK. I never heard about the planting close together creating hybrids .. did it funky up the flavor? Habanero in your hamburgers = YUM !! Alex | ||
