Content courtesy of The Firearm Blog Magnum Research is manufacturing a 1911 which will go on sale next year! Two sized model will be on offer. Magnum Research has entered the 1911 segment of the handgun market with its first two offerings, a full-size (5.055” barrel) and semi-compact (4.33” barrel) Desert Eagle® 1911 pistol. Both models feature enhanced beavertail safety, skeletonized trigger and hammer, crisp trigger, extended safety lever, beveled magazine well, tightly tolerance frame and slide for enhanced accuracy.I believe that these pistols will be manufactured in the United States, not imported from Israel. I think that the great John M. Browning would be very proud to know of this manufacturer and the many others building his Model 1911 since the expiration of the Colt's patent some years ago. Russia, Spain, and Brazil, and others have copied some features of this old warhorse for decades in their various autos but despite what the FBI and US Army deemed about its obsolescense, "it just ain't so"!! The old 1911 will still be around when you and I are gone...believe me.

Magnum Research isn't an Israeli based company, is it? I'd hate to think someone put 1911 and Israeli together... I might have to buy one.

Magnum research is based in Miniapolis, they were the Importers for IMI, IMI is Isreali not Magnum research, We are seeing a shift from the tupperweare guns to real guns again but this is going to be a flop like most of the Magnum research offerings, As for the slogan They are a little full of themselves as they should make the real desert eagle reliable before they try and make a 1911, which makes for a more complicated gun.
