VERY short notice on a discounted class with Pat Goodale

A group of shooters canceled due to unexpected reasons. The CQB Handgun program on the 18-19 of Sept is now $50 dollars off. If you haven't trained with us before we may be able to accommodate you with your proof of training. That is two days of training with an industry leader for only $350. I need to make this happen quick guys so COB Friday the 10th is the deadline.

"Handgun CQB (16-20 hours, 500-700 rounds)

This course focuses on the conditions encountered in most handgun engagements. Heavy emphasis is placed on deployment of the handgun from concealment, low light/night shooting, close distances, movement and close �proximity to structures and vehicles. It features extensive use of reality based scenarios, shooting house work, vehicles, and moving/reactive target engagement. Scenarios requiring interaction with role players and shoot/no-shoot decision making will be conducted. Attendees must have completed Defensive Handgun I (prior completion of Defensive Handgun II is strongly encouraged). Successful completion of previous comparable training may be considered. The course includes a Low Light block of instruction during the evening of training day Class size is limited to 12 shooters. Cost is $400.00."

Watching the first episode of the season. They didn't give it much buzz, as far as I can tell. I'm excited because I finally get FX in HD.

I don't really like the way the episode is starting... but we'll see. They need one major, badass, wickedly violent thing to happen in every episode. If they pull that off in the first episode, we'll know we're back in the saddle again.

Anyone else still watching?

For short barreled 3" roughly in HD/PD .45acp?
Using Winchester PDX1 in 230gr HP now but looking for comparable ammo.. the $1.10 a trigger pull is disturbing me too. ;)

Spend, spend again.

Obama announced on Labor Day that his Admin is purposing another 50 BILLION Stimulus, but NOT called a Stimulus, to be spent of Infrastructure projects.

Now, don't get me wrong, I have openly stated this is ONE of the few areas where I felt improvement for the overall economy needed to be addressed ASAP and didn't happen.

This is where it gets interesting. Ya'll remember that 1st Stimulus, right? Cost our great grand kids about 1 Trillion bucks? Yeah.. that one. Anyway, in IT from almost 2 YEARS ago, is a Ear Mark for 50 BILLION dollars to go to "Shovel-Ready" Infrastructure projects. "Shovel-ready" means soon as the money was handed out to various areas, they had project set to begin immediately. Some guys have shovels in their hand waiting to hear "Go!".. ya'll get the point, right?
Well, guess what? THAT original 50B HAS NOT been even STARTED to be paid out. So here is the logic coming out of Washington:
1. Crap- we need to stimulate things
2. Well- let's spend some on Infrastructure
3. oops- forgot to pay 50 BILLION out
4. Hey- there has been NO improvement on Infrastructure with that 50B we forgot to give them
5. Hmmm- Problem needs more cash!
6. Let's get on TV and show the people our brilliance in spending, but not spending, more of their hard earned money!
7. Hey- While I'm on, let me whine how mean everyone is being to me by fighting me every step of the way!
(Umm.. could it be because you told them you didn't really need their votes and are wrong but refuse to listen??)

Florida minister is planning a Sept. 11th Bar-B-Que on his Church's property. The main course appears to be multiple copies of the Karan favored with gasoline. Sounds yummy...

Muslims are in a REAL uproar over this..
Liberals, like Holder, are in a SERIOUS tizzy over it..
Hispanics are strangely silent.. along with the Blacks.
1/2 of us White folks are shaking our heads over the stupidity of it all..
The other 1/2 are trying to ignore it and pretend it's not gonna happen..

The American Symbolism (That pretty lil red, white and blue flag that most of ya'll MAY hang up twice a year.) has been burned, tromped on, wrapped around effigy's and beaten etc. But we are to ignore that because of their rights but ummm.. we are suppose to always respect their Symbols?

Just recently, in AZ, protesters walked all over our Flag, sat on it and had picnics, BURNED it and to add salt to my wound flew a MEXICAN flag HERE in the US! And the cops just watched.. because they have this right supposedly. (By the way, I have the right to repel invaders, and the moment you break out a FOREIGN flag and start waving it on OUR soil, like you just conquered us, you went from Protester/Illegal Alien to Foreign Invader.)

A few years back, a small business in Alabama had in their window a Confederate Flag. The BLACKS showed up, and from ALL over the country, to protest that Slavery is bad.. uhhh.. okay.. thought that was decided awhile back? They were wearing these little leather tabs on their necks displaying the African continent in that nation's colors and other African garb. Umm.. hold on.. aren't you displaying YOUR heritage openly and a white guy can't?

So perhaps they are staying quiet because they SHOULDN'T have anything to say about it?

Symbolism is just that, a symbol of something. Why is it a white person not respecting OTHERS symbols it is suddenly declared Racism? Has Webster changed the definition of Racism to "Anything a white does that other Ethic groups don't like" and I missed the announcement?

The AutoMag Returns: The New Kodiak .44 AMP

I always like to see old gun designs put back into production. The original Model 180 AutoMag pistol is going back into production after being discontinued about twenty years ago (please correct me if I am wrong). An Alaskan firm called Auto Mag Company, not in anyway connected with the original now defunct Arcadia Machine & Tool (AMT), will be manufacturing 1350 Automag pistols in 2011.

Kodiak .44 AMP

Of the 1350 pistols to be produced, 350 will be collectors "Classic" model that will be made using original Automag frames and 1000 will be the 100% new Kodiak model.

The cost of the pistol will be $5600 for Kodiak model in stainless and $3100 with a parkerized finish. At these prices only hardcore devotees will be buying them. They company has now released pricing for the Classic model.

The original AutoMag in .44 AMP

The Automag Company plans only to offer the pistols chambered in the .44 Auto Mag (AMP) round. Cor-Bon still manufactures this round which sells for just under $40 per box of 20.

This soldier (British Army?) is using an EOTech holographic sight, without magnification, mounted on an Accuracy International Arctic Warfare rifle.

I have often wondered why we do not see photos of snipers with 1x magnification sights. During WWII plenty of snipers used iron sights to good effect. It must surely be easier to use than a scope with magnification when bouncing around in a helicopter and aiming at a moving target.

Some folks seem to think that the various drug wars and overall criminal activities in Mexico aren't spilling over here to the US. It should be shocking for them to learn that Texas is having pirate problems, just like Somali suffers, fortunately not on their scale.. YET.
Falcon Lake shares the border with Mexico in the far South Western edges of our state. There is a series of essentially lamp posts out in the water marking the international lines. The lake is great for Bass fishing and overall enjoyment of the waters. It also seems to be home to some pirates.. yes.. I said pirates! They are haunting the area, zooming in on various fishermen and folks enjoying boating and under HEAVY arms, robbing them blind. They zip back to their side and are officially safe from our law enforcement officers. What makes it worse is there are Militia groups monitoring and recording the often done crossing by these same criminal types. Apparently, when the pirating pickings are slim, they are resorting to smuggling. These people are using speedy bass boats etc and running drugs, cash, ammo and weapons back and forth across the lake. Since the lake series cover roughly 60 miles of border area, the poor under staffed Border Patrol and local police agencies can't possibly cover that amount of area along with their other duties, the instances of these particular issues are increasing. The Federal Gov't for some reason CONTINUES to ignore our state's pleadings for more assistance. So I personally am asking you folks not suffering as severely as those of us in the southern states are to PLEASE PLEASE contact your Congress members and Senate members to pressure them into addressing these issues. I ask NOT just for Texas, but for California, Arizona, New Mexico and Nevada. If we can not start stemming this tide down here, ya'll WILL see it up there eventually.
