Default Oh Frabulous Day! Lee Case Length Gauge 8X56R

I just ordered me a Lee case length gauge for 8X56R to use with my cutter and lock stud. Somebody in another forum turned me on to it, because Lee doesn't list one for this caliber on their website.

Lee Case Length Gage and Shellholder 8x56Rmm Austrian-Hungarian Mannlicher (8mm Hungarian M31) - MidwayUSA

Maybe it's not a popular seller and they sold their overstock to Midway. Who knows.

I'm surprised they don't have them... but then again, I'm surprised it's so hard to find stuff for my Mosin, considering how available they are.

I just found out the .308's I bought won't work. At all. So small that they just drop down through the neck.

Incidentally, if you don't have it yet, the zip trim is perfect for use with that item.

I'll bet 95% of the Mosin owners don't reload

I'm part of the rare 5% then. It's funny he can't seat the .308" bullets. The expander ball from the Lee dies is for .308 bullets. I had to buy the one for the .303 Brit dies for the correct .311". And the RCBS dies come with 2 expander balls, one .308" and one .311". (I have the RCBS neck size only die, that's how I know)

I'm part of that 5% as well. Right now I'm taking military crap, pulling their bullets, and reusing them. I know... why not just shoot them as is? Because I don't want all that nasty crap in my barrel.

Does that mean you are tossing the Berdan Primed Brass? Heck, send it my way, I don't mind taking the extra step needed to clean the corrosive primer residue.

Makes me wish that I would have had more money for when Wideners had the 2000 .311" 147 grain pulled bullets for $152 shipped. Could only afford one before they sold out.
