Hi-Points have their place. If you fear for your life and need a gun but have no cash, get a hi-point. Rugers are very reliable and solid pistols. You can't go wrong with the P95 or any other Ruger pistol (to the best of my knowledge). If you'd like something else that's more expensive you should save for it and get it. As for carrying, IWB is definitely the way to go. You can always open carry but that defeats the purpose of asking for concealment advice

very good points kappy sounds like your pappy is a very smart man on the other hand I don't think I'll ever have what I want cause I refuse to spend 900 to 1000 on a firearm... don't really think anything wrong with the best I can afford but I am shopping around. Found a glock 17 for 350 which prob won't be there friday but hey who cares, found one once I can find it again but you are right I don't want to buy shit guns it's too important

The P95 isn't a shit gun by any means. If thats what you can afford, do it. The Glock 17 is a very good choice too. If you're looking for .45, you can get a real nice 1911 Rock Island Armory for $400-$500.

to be honest my budget is about 250 really, I'll splurge and find the extra money for the glock at 350 simply because it's too good to pass up... I've calculated the money I have plus tax, extra mag, target ammo, range fees and time and targets and 250 is really what's left over

my situation is different I normally don't spend money unless I have to since I don't have much. My ex is taking almost 1/2 my paycheck in child support. That leaves me with about DICK to live off of. I have scrapped together about $400 total but, I set aside money for ammo so on and so forth as I mentioned. That leaves by my estimations about 250. Unfortunately, I do not feel I have the luxury of waiting and saving up. I've put much of my extra personal belongings on craigslist including a nice set of britanicas. I hope someone buys them that would increase my gun budget and in the mean time I have offered all of my many talents to see who can give me extra work. It's a long story but it starts with "We got married..." and in the middle there was "things just weren't working out..." immediatly followed by "we decided to split up and get divorced" right before "well it's been over a year since we started and she is not moving forward why?" to conversations with my brother "you know if you died she would collect insurance and since your still married she'd get social security for the kids. Hey you're worth more dead then alive" then followed immediately by various non substantiated death threats from her friends and family. Now I've spoken with the police concerning the threats and I can come in (500 miles away) and file a report in memphis. Then I can get a court date to get a P.O. which if they violate they'll go to jail. That's if I get it. With the "evidence" I have they say that I won't get the P.O. if they contest it probably and they can't do anything until they do something. Cops are there to respond remember? I don't know if they plan on doing something but I'm not going to ignore it and say nothing will happen it's just talk. I am not a high school teacher in a small colorado town. Nor am I going to set myself up to be a victim, hommie don't play that. I am also not looking for trouble. I have a meeting place with my soon to be ex to exchange the kids which is right in front of a bank, a walgreens, next to the city library and the police station. I stay not to far from there when I visit. Should they be stupid and I have the opportunity even if I am packing I'll run over to the po po but should something happen where that isn't an option I'm not going out like a bitch crying and bargining with my dork in my hand. savee? Do I think they'll do something? maybe they are dumb enough to and it wouldn't be the first time they've broken the law. One of them owns a tee shirt site and is currently being under investigation for hate crimes by the FBI these are not friendly people. I do my best to steer clear of them. I always have. I don't want you to have the mistaken impression that I am an idiot looking to shoot someone. I do not however want to go back to Memphis to see my children until I'm armed and can adequatly protect myself... and them should they be with me when something happens Last edited by psychicash; 02-28-2010 at 09:25 AM.

If you're looking for a great conceal piece, the Ruger LCP is good as is the Kel-Tec PF9. The PF9 can be had new for about $250. 9mm too. Both are pocket pistols so they may be small for you. The Ruger PF9 will do just fine but it's important that you run ammo through the gun before you put your life on it. 500 would be ideal but if you could run 50-100 through it it'd be better than nothing. I'd say go to the gun shop and see what you can find. AH! Another good idea is to get a mil-surp pistol. Our Catalog They have a glock 22 for $350 and a CZ-85 for $220. Also, bring a friend. If you seriously fear, call the local PD and see if you could have an escort.

Well like I said if I drive up and see something funny I won't stop, if there is trouble while I am there, it's literely right next door to the local police station which is larger than most sub stations. Not worried about that, but they were I stay know what I drive they could wait until I'm not in a great place while in transit. Just want to be able to protect myself, I already carry knives that ARE legal which is like one step up from ball point pens in tennessee in my opinion. HEHE Thank you for the link I will def look at that tomorrow I am off so I am going to frequent some local pawn shops too.
