So we're going to a concert in Oakland tonight. I want to carry... because it's Oakland. The wife wants to take BART. Oddly enough, BART allows for CCW. The question is... does the venue? A few months ago when we ordered the tix, I emailed the venue and they said that they didn't allow CCW's... so that's done... but I figured they'd say that, so I sent it from a clone email account with no identifying info. So the real question is... does the venue have metal detectors? Am I going to have to leave the venue to drop my gun off at the car? This is just really annoying.

I don't think there is any way to know except to go to the event carrying concealed. If you encounter a problem, have your wife hold your seat or place in line while you take the pistola back to the trunk.

Last one I went to, they made me take off my chain wallet and keep it in the car because it's a dangerous weapon

We have the same rule on my campus. On the other hand... on campus, they're children who have no expectation of rights... or shouldn't.

^ rightfully so. I always had one in school and I used to walk around swinging the chain around as if it was a weapon. I'd go to Lowes and buy new chain links and have them added. The chain gradually grew in length and over time it truly was a weapon. Finally one day (even though I had never used it as a weapon), I got suspended for "possession of a weapon on school grounds." I guess the school got tired of seeing it grow in length weekly. That and I was miserable little bastard in school so they were always looking for an opportunity to get rid of me for short periods of time

As to that, I didn't strap. I decided to leave it in the car. They were frisking EVERYONE on their way in, and I know from prior email contact that they wouldn't be understanding or helpful if they caught it. Posted via Mobile Device | ||
