ok 1911 now that i have some time I will look a little closer at what you responded with. I think maybe I didn't explain my thoughts clearly? so I will try to elaborate on what I was saying. Yes I know that the law concerning saving your life is a little different. The point I was getting at is that someone might hold you accountable since hind sight is 20/20. I know that cops don't have a bit of responcibility but one of the things the carry movement has said is that we carry to defend ourselves and others. even if you are not legally liable you could do more harm to the carry cause then good. I do agree that a gun is normally a deter-ant but if you're the only gun the attacker sees... (remember devil advocate)... I know weak argument. Lastly I agree that the hurt someones feelings argument is Lame but at the center of it... um that's politics. Remember that a human is an intelligent rational creature able to discern and weigh all the options before forming an opinion. A group of people are emotional and unyielding to their personal beliefs and will rally behind any thing that furthers the group's agenda like lemmings. I agree with you though that the more open carry is done the more common the more it will be accepted. But it doesn't hurt to use some tact and diplomacy with local businesses and patrons and explain. If you take this tough guy attitude with a chip on your shoulder they will think you have something to prove and a man with a gun and something to prove well that normally spells trouble.

Its not a tough guy attitude, its the attitude that if you dont want me with my firearm in your business and the rest of the sheep that patronize that store, want me to not be there I will take my money else where and make sure that every person I know does not go there either...... I agree the owners have a right to ask me to leave and I have a right to give them the most bad publicity I can and take business away from them.... Like I said their right is no more important then mine and if they want to have a chip, on their shoulder the wind blows both ways..... As far as someone Open Carrying if you dont want to thats fine, but dont tell someone else that OC is not worth it and they should'nt do it.......... As for people being intellagent and intellectual thats debatable,,,,,, I should practice tact and good sense, and not Open carry.... But then the business should do the same then... and not make a sceen when something is legal, maybe they should know what they are talking about and use tact when dealing with people who are afraid of an inatimate object.

1911 I feel you, I do, I think we do want the same thing, honestly if OC was legal here I would from time to time prob take advantage of it... ok prob all the time. But my mother is one of those paranoid christian nut pacifists that believe guns are evil so I understand that carrying them openly doesn't always grow on people. I think we want the same thing but we would go about it differently.

we are prolly on the same page.... My whole problem is I dont really care what others think, and I'm right all the time....... It is a hard role to hoe when you are pig headed and stubborn. Plus I refuse to give in to much of anything.

The problem I see with open carry is that when two gun owners meet, they're going to start poking fun at each other's guns... "I can't believe you bought that POS..." "F- you, my daddy bought me this gun..." Next thing you know, OK Coral all over again.
