My wife uses the low profile Caldwells. Not expensive, but they work fine and don't squeeze her head (she has big Italian hair).

I wear a pair of Howard Leights. I think they were about $40 when I bought them.

Now... why did I get them over another brand/model? Because they're the only one I've seen with an Aux in. I can plug in my iphone and take calls, listen to music, etc. while still able to hear everything going on around me including the range master's instructions. They work really damned well, too. Very crisp.

The only problem with ANY electronic ears, however, is the interference you get from fluorescent tubes.

Two weekends ago... I shot my Mosin and forgot to put them on... big mistake. Ears ringing for four days.

I use disposable plugs. We have them at the plant where I work.
I do not like muffs at all.

I just used the disposable plugs but I want a pair of electronic ear muffs. Being able to talk and hear normally while you're not shooting is a plus. :P

There's a guy at my range (actually, he posts here) who has ears like that. I didn't realize they were that expensive. Damn.

Incidentally... my brother left my wife's ears at the range a few weeks ago when he visited. The following weekend, I was sick... so basically they were long gone by the time I got back. No biggy... $25 including shipping (from Cabelas).

Yeah the dispoasable plugs with muffs will be fine indoors. I do know that there are some plugs made for indoor range use, they arent terribly expensive but for the life of me I cant remember who makes them, or even find them right now.
